Curious what you get in a free sample set of colored contact lenses? This article explains the contents, how it works, and how to use it to test comfort and appearance before buying a full set.
Quick answer
A free sample set of colored lenses typically contains one random pair (two lenses) with no prescription, letting you test comfort, fit, and appearance before committing to a full set.
Why a random color?
The sample set ships a random color rather than a specific shade. This is intentional: the purpose is to evaluate the physical feel of the lens—its material, moisture level, and how it sits on your eye—not to match a particular look. If you need a precise color, a full set is the better choice.
What you don't get
A free sample set does not include a prescription (no corrective power) and does not come with a lens case or solution. You need to supply your own storage and cleaning supplies. The set is also not returnable or exchangeable for a different color.
Frequently asked questions about free sample lens sets
- How many lenses are in a free sample set?
- One pair — that is, two individual lenses, enough to wear in both eyes for a trial.
- Can I choose the color?
- No. The sample is shipped in a random color. This is meant to test comfort and fit, not to match a specific shade. For a chosen color, order a full set. If color is critical, skip the sample and go directly to a full set.
- Does the sample set have prescription (strength)?
- No. The free sample set is without prescription (zero power). It is intended for cosmetic testing only. If you need vision correction, order a full set with your prescription.
- What do I need to use the sample lenses?
- You will need your own contact lens solution and a lens case, as these are not included. Clean and disinfect the lenses before first use. Have solution and case ready before opening the sample.
- Can I return or exchange the sample set?
- No. Due to hygiene regulations, the sample set is non-returnable and non-exchangeable, even if the random color is not what you expected. Consider the sample a no-risk trial of lens feel, not a color preview.
